Involved in the Assassin's Creed franchise since 2010, the Quebec team recently assumed the leadership of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the latest installment in the critically acclaimed series. The team has just finished working on a brand new game, Immortals Fenyx Rising.Job DescriptionAs a Lead Rigger at Ubi Québec, you supervise the rigging team, and make sure that the rig quality standards are maintained. With your deep technical expertise and experience, you coach the rigging team, oversee their needs and push for the team’s technical growth and proficiency. You are able to demonstrate leadership and ingenuity.What you’ll do :Be both an artistic and technical mentor for all the members of the team to push the team's quality.Help resolve all other tasks directly or indirectly related to rigging.Define, document, communicate and establish best pratices and techniques for the rigging pipeline.Organise and overview the creation for in-game character generation.Create, prioritize, assign, and follow the different tasks in the team.Serve as the rigging team's representative by closely working with the animation and modeling team.Work with the senior TD's to develop and integrate tools into a robust pipeline.Assist in hiring and training all fulltime and temp personnel who will be working on in-game content.Help in recruitement and integration of all new members and mentor their skill developpement to ease their learning curve.Give a periodical status to CP/PM about the progress of the team and provide corrective measures when needed to arrive to the desired objectives.Anticipate and address conflicts within the team and suggest solutions to CP/PMs when needed.Participate in performance follow up meetings.Write the annual report and the end-of-project report of the employees under their responsibility and help them identify their growth pathMentor the employees under their responsibility.Meet with employees under their responsibility regularly to give them feedback and help them progress.Develop a culture of sharing and push for continuous improvement within its trade community.Help create a healthy, inclusive and positive work environment and escalate issues that could affect employees or the project as needed.QualificationsWhat you bringA degree in 3D Animation or equivalent (or related training)Around 5 years of experience in rigging, modelling, or animating (or other related experience)Knowledge of 3D software (3DS Max, Maya, and MotionBuilder)* + familiarity with scriptingSolid understanding of anatomy and clothExcellent observation, problem-solving, organization, communication, and interpersonal skillsA highly collaborative, creative, and innovative spiritFlexibility and resourcefulnessMotivation to reach out for feedback and adapt to it

  • Knowledge of game engines (e.g. Unity or Unreal), a plus!
