Job Description

West Fraser is a leading diversified forest products company. We are a growing Company looking for talented people to be part of our team. Our Quesnel Sawmill division has an opportunity for a:PAYROLL ADMINISTRATORReporting to the divisional controller, this is a full-time role in our office administration team at the Quesnel Sawmill site.Responsibilities:

  • Process accurate and timely payroll
  • Maintain payroll & benefits information, documents & forms
  • Calculate & prepare payroll remittance & reconciliations
  • Respond to payroll & benefit related inquiries
  • Manage WCB and short & long-term disability claims
  • Prepare various reports upon request for supervisors and management
  • Prepare ROE’s & information for T4’s
  • Maintain confidential personnel files
  • Ensuring compliance with West Fraser policies, Canadian payroll regulations, and professional development as required by the National Payroll Institute
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
  • Prepare and participate in events for the division
  • Assist as needed with other tasks to support the division
Our ideal candidate would have:
  • 3-5 years of previous payroll or administration experience
  • National Payroll Institute Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation or willing to attain it
  • Post-secondary education in payroll administration or general accounting would be an asset
  • Accurate data entry skills and superior attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, requests and meet strict deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (with an emphasis on Excel and Word) and the ability to adapt to new software systems
  • Effective organization and communication skills
  • Experience &/or training in Human Resources would be an asset
