Reporting to the Town Treasurer, the Procurement Clerk will play an important role in sourcing and purchasing products and services that meet the needs of the various Town's Departments, and are cost effective by successfully implementing the Town's purchasing process.ResponsibilitiesManage and administer the day-to-day procurement operations to ensure that departments receive the required equipment, goods and services to meet the service standard of the community.Prepare and issue Tenders, Request for Quotes and Request for Proposal documents.Responsible to manage the entire purchasing cycle, including sourcing, purchasing products and services.Negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best cost-effective purchase price for the Town.Prepare and execute purchasing and service agreements for the Town.Reconcile and process invoices for product and services received. Clarify and resolve invoice discrepancies, recalls, returns.Maintain records, schedules and documents and prepare standard reports.Assist in the enhancement of policies, procedures on a continuous improvement basis to ensure operational initiatives incorporate Town's Vision.Provide back up support to the front reception team.QualificationsSuccessful completion of post-secondary course work in a related field.A minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in purchasing and or contract administration.Ability to establish excellence in customer service.Strong relationship building skills, ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.Proficient in the use of MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and other technology required for the day to day administration of the roleApplications will only be accepted through our online application system until Wednesday, June 30th at 4:30PM.
