Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the Senior Resources Geologist, the 3D Modeling Geologist will perform his/her duties as a member of the Geology department and collaborate with other departments of the division. The 3D Modeling Geologist plays an important role providing quality geological models and information to mine operations and to mine exploration to maximize the mining and the addition of resource. He/She also plays an important role in drill hole planning and follow-up, resources evaluation execution, data validation, well as ensuring compliance with QA/QC. He/She will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the Environment.

• Manage tasks and projects as assigned to the position by the Senior Resources Geologist;
• Update 3D lithological, structural and mineralization models for production, resources conversion and exploration purposes;
• Assist the Senior Resources Geologist for all activities of the Mineral Resources & Mineral Reserves period;
• Be responsible for QA/QC exercises and reporting
• Assist the Exploration Coordinators in developing diamond drilling campaigns in alignment with life of mine plan;
• Assist Exploration Coordinators in the preparation of weekly, monthly and/or quarterly reporting;
• Assist the production teams in defining targets for definition and/or delineation of the resources;
• Participate in memos and technical reporting;
• Participate in data validation activities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
• Qualifications to register with NAPEG is required;
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in geology with a minimum of 3 years in advanced 3D modelling and data management;
• 3 years in exploration (From surface and/or from UG) is considered as an asset;
• 3 years in production is considered as an asset;
• Experience in database building/management is considered as an asset;
• Knowledge of Datamine and Deswik softwares is considered an asset;
• Leadership, autonomy, and team spirit;
• Experience working in a multicultural environment;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
• Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule

• Schedule: hybrid schedule or 5 days of work, followed by 2 days for rest; a combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val d’Or or Mirabel, QC. Occasional visits to site may also be required.
