Job Description

Position SummaryOur ideal candidate will need to be relocated in Rankin Inlet- Nunavut.Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the Customer Service Representative will provide outstandingcustomer service to the guests at Katimavik Suites Hotel in Rankin Inlet, NU. In this position theperson must be approachable, friendly, and detailed with excellent interpersonal skills. Thisposition will primarily work independently and be required to speak to customers face to face andover the phone. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for exercising a high degreeof confidence and professionalism, while building friendly and helpful relationships with guests.The Customer Service Representative will also be responsible for the planning, communicationand delivery of all conference room events held at Katimavik Suites.Duties & Responsibilities

  • General operation of the Hotel including taking reservations, check-in and checkout of
guests, and providing superior customer service and solutions
  • Provide information about the Hotel amenities and the surrounding community of Rankin
Inlet.
  • Resolve customer issues regarding hotel services, amenities, and policies.
  • Meeting and conference planning
o Ongoing communication with customers to identify their needs and to ensure asuccessful meeting/conference.o Organize facilities and manage all event details such as room set-up, catering,transportation, guest room reservations, audio /video equipmento Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activitieso Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problemsduring the duration of the event
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety obligations
  • Answer all phone calls and emails that come in during the shift.
  • Pick up and delivery of guests to and from the airport.
  • Accurate and timely completion of payments for rooms and vehicle rentals
  • Communicate with manager informing of required maintenance, repairs & customer
concerns.
  • Initiate tasks that aid in the day to day operations of the Hotel.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.
Hours
  • Primary working hours will be 11:00AM – 8:00PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Due to the fluctuating nature of the hotel business hours of work may change daily,
weekly and seasonally.
  • Extended hours of work including 10-hour days and 6-day weeks are not uncommon in
the hospitality industryJob DescriptionQualifications
  • At least 2-year experience in customer service
  • High School Diploma or GED, Post-Secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • Good attention to detail, time management with the ability to multi-task, and
organizational skills and be an effective problem solver
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access,
Word, PowerPoint), and Hotel Property Management Systems (PMSs)
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Must have a strong work ethic, be reliable with a positive team attitude.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations in a confidential and professional manner
