Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the RMMS Compliance Coordinator, the RMMS Compliance Technician is part of the Environment Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.Complete reporting for Regulators (Production Lease Report, Monthly NWB Monitoring Report, KIA Production Report, Wildlife Monthly Report, IIBA Quarterly Report, Mine Water Compensation Report, MDMER Report, NTI);Complete the monthly and quarterly Agnico Eagle Report, Corporate KPI /CSR Monthly, Sustainability Reports;Complete monthly calendars for inspection and sampling and ensure follow-up;Complete required communications with Inspectors/Regulators/Officers about operational aspects;Prepare and assist in Regulators Responses and Follow Up;Assist in annual report organization, writing and review;Provide field support to operations when required;Attend all applicable meetings.;Assist with the Management Plans review;Assist in RMMS, ICMC, TSM, RGMP compliance;Ensure follow up and actions on non-conformities with Technicians;Notify of any non-conformities and assist in correctives actions;Participate in managing consultants and organize logistics for environmental programs and reporting;Assist with the review and update of procedures and SOP in compliance with RMMS standards;Conduct QA/QC on monitoring compliance activities;Ensure obligations register is maintained to meet regulatory standards;Liaise with permitting, technical services, project engineers and planners with data requests and provide support if needed;Support RMMS/Compliance Coordinator in ensuring site compliance and regulatory performance is met.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDBachelor Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Biology, Chemistry, Hydrology or any relevant field;3-4 years of experience in a similar role;Experience working in a multicultural environment;Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
