What you’ll do:Our technicians are the heart of our service department and play a vital role in keeping farmers going. Using our advanced diagnostic software you will inspect, diagnose and repair our customer’s equipment. Keeping up to date on the latest technological advancements you will be capable of servicing equipment manufactured over multiple decades. This role consists of:
  • The maintenance and repair of John Deere equipment
  • Servicing other lines of equipment if required
  • Maintaining a high level of efficiency and knowledge, you will keep up to date with the advancing technologies within the industry
  • A flexible work arrangement that may have you working within the shop or in the field
  • Provide support to farmers to ensure they are able to have success during critical points of the season
  • We operate in a cyclical environment that requires extended hours during the farming season including evenings, weekends and participation in an on call rotation
Training:Whether you are a journeyperson with 20+ years of experience or looking to get a start on your apprenticeship journey we have the resources and plan to give you the best opportunity to succeed:
  • We offer apprenticeship opportunities through the John Deere Technician program at Sask Polytech
  • Apprentices will gain additional expertise in agriculture equipment through shadowing current journeyperson mechanics, online and in-person training offerings and hand-on experience along with their classroom learning
  • Experienced technicians will be kept informed on the latest technological equipment advancements through online and in-person training opportunities
  • South Country is committed to ensuring that all technicians have the knowledge and resources to succeed
RequirementsWhat you bring:
  • Strong mechanical inclination
  • A focus on working accurately, safely and efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to come up with creative solutions
  • Experience working with farm equipment or in a shop environment would be considered an asset
