Job Description

A HOTEL WITH THE FREEDOM OF STYLE!_Located in the heart of Central Alberta, *_CAMBRIDGE RED DEER HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTRE*_ is the ideal place to start your career in hospitality, providing excellent and personalized service to our guests while working within a positive team environment._*Summary*Under the direction of the Night Club Manager, the Night Club Server is responsible for interacting with our guests and ensuring they have a great experience while enjoying our Club’s atmosphere. Responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, Club Servers are expected to be attentive to our guest’s needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. They will follow through with the proper and timely service and cleanup of assigned tables. Serving of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and food can include and not be limited to rearranging tables, chairs and other items keeping facilities in a clean, organized, and safe manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner. Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests; up-sell when taking orders.
  • Must be willing and able to show that you are an energetic, outgoing, fun person while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Must be willing to provide outstanding and professional service with a smile to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers and kitchen staff utilizing the point of sales system.
  • Communicate with guests clearly, patiently and with good humour.
  • Consistently checks guests identification to ensure they meet the minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Monitor guest behaviour and amount of alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guests should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests.
  • Must be able to complete all side work assigned.
  • Accurately account for all sales and payments from the guest.
  • Alert Management of any service and/or safety issues.
  • Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines in order to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages.
  • Other duties as assigned by a leader or manager.
Education, Qualification and Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related proven customer service experience in a fast-paced nightclub environment.
  • Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work following verbal instructions.
  • Proven communication (written and oral) and customer service skills and experience.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Excellent work ethic: driven, organized, dependable, flexible, available to pick up or volunteer for shifts as required to maintain operational requirements.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and oral.
  • Up-to-date Pro Serve and Protect Certification.
Work Environment
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Ability to tolerate exposures to heat, cold and loud/noisy environment
  • The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and crouching
Hours of Work
  • The hours of work for this position will vary depending on operational requirements but will include evening and late night as well as weekends and holidays.
Schedule
  • Must be available Friday and Saturday. Wednesday too if needed
