Job Description

Matrix is hiring Skilled Labourers for a short-term demolition project in Ponoka, AB. The rate is $22/hr. The Skilled Labourer is responsible for Loading and unloading debris and wastes onto and off trucks, refilling excavated holes and ditches, and building and dismantling scaffolding and temporary structures. Skilled Labourers who live in Red Deer can get free transportation to and from the site.Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday
Key Responsibilities:
  • Using hand or power tools, heavy machinery, and explosives to demolish old or unsound buildings
  • Directing traffic away from the demolition site to ensure public safety
  • Signalling heavy equipment operators to position machinery and equipment correctly
  • Performing maintenance checks on all tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Assessing building structures to identify their structural components and determine the most efficient demolition methods
  • Examining the job site surroundings to determine whether using explosives is safe
  • Salvaging valuable or reusable materials such as pipes, radiators, and steel beams from the building structures
  • Removing debris, rubble, and hazardous materials from the job site
Requirements:
  • Full PPE
  • Experience in demolition/construction is an asset
Qualifications:
  • Physically fit to lift, carry & handle weights up to 50lbs
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Good physical stamina.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
