Daily travel is required.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional customer serviceInterpret policy wordings, determines policy coverage and ensure appropriate reservingInvestigate losses to determine liability, attending the loss scene as requiredEvaluate relevant information from sources such as lawyers, medical providers and other expertsWrite scope and estimate of loss using property estimating softwareNegotiate with insureds, claimants, lawyers and insurersCoordinate services with vendors and service providersAdjust claim from inception to completion in a proactive mannerProvide ongoing technical advice and guidance to junior claims staffMaintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims systemSupplement the National Catastrophe Team as required for Corporate Catastrophe Response in any regionRemain up-to-date with legislative changes and trends in the insurance industryPerform other duties as assignedQualifications2+ years insurance adjusting experienceWorking toward Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designationStrong knowledge of property estimating software, Xactware knowledge preferredEffective customer service skills including empathy and concern for our customersExcellent communication skills , both written and oralExcellent investigative and analytical skillsHighly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environmentExcellent knowledge of medical and legal terminologyDetail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entryExcellent negotiation skillsValid driver license with acceptable driving recordCollege/University degree is preferredWawanesa provides its employees with a respectful , challenging and rewarding environment where they can maximize their potential while contributing to the company’s goals.
