JA works in partnership with educators, volunteers and businesses to help youth increase their potential, engage in their own economic development, and contribute to the strength of their community and Canada’s economy.General AccountabilityThe Regional Coordinator works 37.5 hours per week and is responsible for overseeing the coordination of programs, local fundraising efforts and associated functions within their specified region.The Regional Coordinator fulfills an important and multi-faceted role in the planning and delivery of JA programs including the recruitment, training and recognition of volunteers and marketing to regional schools. This position also plays a vital development role in the cultivation of local business contacts, donors and community partners with the goal of increasing regional sustainability.Responsibilities: · Market JA programs to regional schools· Ensure quality of program delivery through follow-up evaluations with teachers, volunteers and students· Recruitment of volunteers in accordance with program goals and JA intake procedures· Coordinate and facilitate program training for all regional volunteers· Initiate and develop fundraising proposals with new and existing regional funding prospects· Maintain regular communication and timely reporting with regional donors· Identify and network with prospective donors in the region in conjunction with the Director of ProgramsRequired Qualifications: · Post-secondary diploma in business administration, event planning, public relations or related field· Experience in program coordination & volunteer management· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills· High degree of motivation and self-direction· Superior organizational skillsDesired Skills & Experience: · Aptitude and enthusiasm for educating local youth· Past experience working within the non-profit sector· Relationship building ability with community stakeholders· Knowledge of local community, business & volunteer networks· Marketing & fundraising experienceRequirements: · Ability to work from a home office location in Red Deer, Stettler, Drumheller, or a nearby community· A reliable vehicle is required for travel within the designated region.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $18.00-$21.00 per hourSchedule:
