Job Description

Position Summary:We are currently looking for a permanent full-time Junior Facility Operator at our Redwater facility. This facility is located in Redwater, Alberta. The shift schedule for this position is 14 days on and 14 days off, and 12 hours a day, shift schedules are subject to change pending operational requirements. This is not a camp position. Candidates will be expected to have their own transportation to and from site.As a Junior Facility Operator you are responsible for plant flow, and operating in a safe manner, as outlined in the SECURE Health and Safety Manual. You will understand the regulatory, and operating approvals, Standard Operating Procedures, Critical Tasks, and Emergency Response Plan. You will also have excellent customer service skills as you will be interacting with customers, truck drivers and other Secure Energy departments.Responsibilities:Plant Operations

  • Complete morning pre-shift tailgate meetings and permits.
  • Orientate new drivers and contractors.
  • Receive and identifies all waste entering the facility by way of checking transport documents and completing receiving information ticket.
  • Sample waste and prepare for testing as required.
  • Field Test waste as required to ensure corresponding paperwork is accurate.
  • Ensure all waste has been properly classified and documented.
  • Ensure all required documents adhere to legal requirements set out by AEP and the AER as well as maintain compliance within Secure Energy guidelines.
  • Prepare shipping documents for outbound waste headed for final disposal or laboratory.
  • Utilize Secure Energy’s internal Waste Tracking Database to efficiently outbound waste.
  • Create work orders and inbound waste as required.
  • Actively participate in tracking all waste containers within the facility.
  • Provide assistance as well as the offsite water disposal site, as required.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and daily tailgate meetings.
  • Abide by SECURE’s Occupational Health and Safety Program and Safety Absolutes.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a clean and organized Transfer Station.
  • Responsible for knowing and following the Standard Operating Procedures and mastering critical tasks.
  • Basic loader and fork lift operations.
  • Unloading oilfield and industrial (including hazardous material) waste from trucks.
  • Operation and maintenance of pumps, and centrifuge.
  • Operating, managing, and maintaining tank farm.
  • Will be expected to be able to participate in call outs if required.
  • May be expected to operate a night shift with 48 hours notice.
  • Will need to utilize call out procedure when working alone.
Customer Service:
  • Represent the foundation building of the Secure Energy culture of Superior Customer Service values when involved with both Internal & External customers (contractors, customers, truck drivers etc.)
Environment Health & Safety:
  • Ability to fill out and issue safe work permits per Operations Coordinator or managers direction.
  • Near Miss/Hazard ID and Incident identification and reporting are a high priority.
  • Know and follow the ERP, three levels of emergency, and Secure Energy Policies.
  • Operate in a safe manner according to the Health and Safety Manual, OH&S regulation, and Safety Absolutes.
  • Basic understanding of Environment and Regulatory.
  • Applicable Safety Courses as set out in the HSE Manual.
  • Understand and follow Covid 19 protocol if required.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of 5th Class Power Engineering Certification, or greater, would be an asset.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to function in a team environment.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and email is an asset.
  • Grade 12 Education or equivalent required.
