This position is directly responsible for meeting plan targets in safety, production, operating cost, quality, and environmental performance. As a member of the Redwater Leadership Team, the Superintendent also shares responsibility for ensuring that all Nitrogen departmental management systems are optimized to meet department and site needs.This position is located in Redwater, Alberta and is not available for remote work.What you will do:

• Effectively guide people through career development planning, performance management reviews, and training and development processe
• Coordinate short term operations through the Operations Coordinators including day to day issues between the operations, maintenance, and technical areas
• Ensure communications between the operating groups and Teams and their departmental, site and corporate teams
• Ensure the units are at maximum rates and meet all the required production targets as set out in the budget
• Ensure that the units are operating within the environmental approval limits
• Work with Marketing and Loadout to meet and achieve short term and long term forecasts.
• Facilitate the resolution of unit production issues I.E. Shutdowns, turnarounds, major equipment replacements, product quality, etc. Facilitate the resolution of cross-unit issues within the department, site and remainder of NAW as required
• Develop the operating groups. Plans and goals for the upcoming year. The Superintendent participates in the development of the department budget and is accountable to operate within the budget.
• Responsible for development of high-performance operating groups and Teams to ensure that they work together on the department and corporate targets.
• Support the Management of Change (MOC) process.

What you will bring:

• Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate
• P. Eng. would also be considered (i.e.: Chemical, Mechanical)
• 15 years Operations experience
• Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication, skills.
• Demonstrated ability to nurture change and communicate effectively
• Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills; skilled in guiding problem-solving sessions for a wide variety of problems (technical and organizational).
• Experience supporting large teams
