Faculty/Department Faculty of Nursing Unit Nursing - Clinical Employee Group URFA CUPE 5791 Job Family N/A Category Sessional Number of Vacancies 25 Position Summary The Faculty of Nursing invites applications for clinical nursing practica coaches. Registered nurses with recent clinical experience across multiple care areas are invited to apply

  • Instruction and mentoring of nursing students in a variety of clinical, community, and lab/seminar settings throughout years 1-4 of the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) program
  • Responsibilities vary according to the educational setting and will include clinical/lab/seminar preparation, supervision, instruction, and evaluation
  • May include low, medium, and high fidelity simulation, seminars, labs and interprofessional teaching/learning events.
  • Will include formative and summative evaluation of student clinical performance in relation to course competencies and learning outcomes, which includes the determination of students’ client assignments, clinical instruction, evaluation of student progress, and support within the agency during student research time
  • Includes agency collaboration and interdisciplinary communication within the clinical setting
  • Opportunities for participation in SCBScN program activities
  • Travel may be required
Position Requirements
  • Practicing membership in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) and/or the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS).
  • Current CPR and TLR required
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of two years recent and relevant experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Application of theory, practices, and principles of adult education
  • Facilitation and interaction in small groups by leading, modelling, and teaching.
As part of your job requirements you will be required to abide by the policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines in the various practice / clinical education settings in which you will work. In particular, community clinical settings prescribe their own policies and directives in regards to COVID-19 vaccination requirements that must be adhered to.Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range 56.65 Status Term Work Hours
  • Hours and days of the week vary per course – including clinical research, clinical/lab experience, preparation, and evaluation time.
  • Wage includes course meetings (normally one per semester) and vacation pay
