16 week term contract: May 8 – August 25, 2023WAGE: $16/hour, 35 work weekWe are looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in the professional exhibition program and enhancement of the care and outreach of the Mann Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection.The Collections Assistant will select, research, and compile data on the artworks in the Permanent Collection of the Mann Art Gallery. They will research the historical, social and artistic contexts in which the artworks were created, produce industry-standard photo documentation, populate the Collections database and upload compelling information and images on the gallery’s website and other venues. The successful candidate will work alongside the Registrar/Preparator and the Director/Curator to curate a collection-based exhibition.The successful candidate will have educational and practical experience in Visual Arts, Art History, or cultural management. Knowledge or interest in Indigenous and Saskatchewan art is an asset. The candidate should be organized, be able to work with people in a team environment and independently, and possess excellent communication skills. Familiarity with Windows computer systems, word processing, photo-editing software is important. The successful candidate must be fluent in English, but fluencies in French, Cree or Arabic would be considered assets.Students must be registered and have a valid account with Young Canada Works.Please submit your application electronically.
