This role will be responsible for leading, administering and providing recommendations on risk, privacy, compliance, ombudsperson, and business continuity management.Position Responsibilities•Overseeamp; lead Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policies and frameworks ensuring the business is proactively leveraging ERM as it relates to the strategic direction of the organization. •Ensure all corporate and operational policies and framework remain relevant and appropriate to business needs. This could include research, reviewing internal trendsamp; issues and making process and procedure recommendations back to the business as necessary•Monitor and maintain up to date knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements as well as internal policies to ensure that GMS is compliant with all regulatory and legislative requirements. •Build a high performing team by fostering a collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.•Ensure regulatory filings, including corporate annual returns and annual licenses are filed on time in each operational jurisdiction. •Develop employeeamp; board training as required and ensure all training requirements are met. •Prepare risk, compliance, and privacy reporting to the Board. •Provide correspondence and consultation across the organization as it relates to risk, privacy and compliance concerns. •Investigate, assess, and action recommendations regarding privacy incidents and ombudspersons complaints within prescribed service standards. •Develop, integrate, and implement business continuity management. This includes responsibility for business continuity engagement in a timely manner in the case of an event. •Responsible for organization contract management and managing all legal action. •Manage GMS #39; representation of industry forums (i.e. CLHIA working groups) and participate in those groups related to legislation, compliance, risk, emergency preparedness, and privacy.Set yourself apartHere #39;s the nuts and bolts of what we #39;re looking for. Ability to deal with conflicting points of views. Ability to educate staff on compliance best practices. •Leadership - Promotes organization mission, vision, values, and goals; builds strong understanding of context and considers multiple angle #39;s prior to making decisions and providing recommendations.Your must haves•University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. •Legal degree considered as asset.•Minimum 5 years work experience in Compliance, Audit, Legal and/or Risk Management ideally in regulated industry.•Industry knowledge - thoroughly versed in regulations affecting the insurance industry in applicable jurisdictions.Are we a fitIf you think so, please apply by March 18, 2024.
