Job Description

YQR Distillery is eagerly looking for a Distiller Production Technician to join the team and take on a key role producing alcoholic beverages. The Distiller Technician will be responsible for day-to-day operations working with the Master Distiller: You will be working with raw materials, malting, fermentation, distillation, maturation, blending, and preparation of intermediate products (including distillation), packaging under all the safety protocol and quality control standards to maximize customer’s satisfaction. Generate daily logs to report to the distilling Production manager.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESRoles and Responsibilities

  • Review and manage day-to-day operations of the distillery, including operating equipment, scheduling production and managing inventory.
  • Contribute to the development of new product lines, with an eye for innovation.
  • Assist Marketing Team when asked to promote our company, product and develop our brand
  • Manage production environment with careful attention to hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Be responsible for daily operations of distilling associated operations including distilling, cellaring, packaging and inventory control in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Actively engage in and contribute to new liquor product development and existing brand improvement
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory, production, and R&D for reporting to the Master Distiller, or Production manager
  • Collaborate with the brewing team and supervise other staff when needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree (science, food science, fermentation science preferred) or related field or equivalent education experience is an asset
  • 1-3 years of experience in alcoholic beverage industry as preferred
  • Experience in QC/QA in the beverage industry is a plus;
  • Understanding the distilling process is a plus
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history background check
  • Excellent knowledge of data
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and production management software
  • Ability to strategize and solve problem
  • Forklift experience / certification is a plus
  • Must be able to lift 25 kg over the shelf
  • Must be able to move 65kg with assistance of a dolly
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and handle ingredients on a ladder
  • Must be able to safely navigate in wet and slippery working conditions
  • Must have certificate of Serve It Right Saskatchewan (SIRS), nor the work would be obtained
