Successful candidates will be part of a team building world class projects that balance environmental protection with development. Responsibilities include:Monitoring compliance with applicable environmental requirements and commitments, including Environmental Protection Plans and work planRecommending best practices and mitigation measures to manage environmental concerns during constructionRecommending erosion and sediment control measures and monitoring installationSupervising soil salvage and handling proceduresConducting wildlife surveys, migratory and breeding bird/nest surveys, and amphibian salvagesMonitoring water quality and conducting fish salvagesResponding to environmental emergencies on construction sitesPerforming equipment inspections for fluid leaks and assisting with spill prevention and responsePreparing daily and weekly summary reportsAttending project and safety meetingsLiaising with clients, regulators, and contractorsSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:BSc. or technical diploma in biology, forestry, agriculture, environmental science, or related degreeMinimum of five years of experience as an environmental monitor or inspector in a construction environmentP. Biol., R.P.Bio., P.Ag., or equivalent registration with a professional regulatory body is an assetExtensive knowledge of construction site erosion and sediment control measures and best management practicesMulti-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, and policies to ensure project-specific complianceExperienced in fish salvage, water quality monitoring, pre-construction bird sweeps, and amphibian salvageAdept in the operation and maintenance of required field equipmentAbility to identify and mitigate issues rapidly to ensure compliance within an active construction work environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesAble to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, agencies, and co-workersProven ability to work independently with minimal supervisionDetail oriented with solid organizational and time-management skillsPhysically fit and able to work in all weather conditionsMust be willing to work on a 2-week work rotationValid drivers license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work settingExperience operating off-highway vehiclesHOW TO APPLYIf this opportunity sounds like you, and you are serious about joining a progressive team of environmental consultants, please apply with a resume and cover letter.Closing Date: February 28, 2023 (Will be extended as required)Website: www.triton-env.comPlease note that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
