Job Description

Eden Care Communities needs you on the Human Resources Team!Eden Care Communities is a vibrant, growing not-for-profit housing and care provider for Long Term Care, Personal Care and Group Homes. We oversee the operations of the Regina Lutheran Home, Broadway Terrace, Milton Heights, Saplings Early Learning Center, and Eden Care Health Programs located in Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon. In all, we provide housing services and supportive care to approximately 1,000 residents.The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering operational and value-added human resource services to Eden Care Communities and its subsidiaries.The HR Generalist will: *

  • Create strong relationships with senior leaders within Eden Care Communities to provide proactive strategies to meet current, emerging and future human resource needs
  • Nurture a vibrant coaching culture throughout Eden Care Communities
  • Provide HR administrative support to hiring managers by promoting available career opportunities with Eden Care Communities and its subsidiaries through various internal and external mediums, candidate pre-screening, scheduling, and participating in interviews, short-listing candidates, conducting reference checks, and preparing the Letter of Offer
  • Ensure accurate job descriptions and interview guides are in place
  • Track and report on the status of candidates and open positions throughout the selection process
  • Ensure on-boarding packages are kept up to date and relevant
  • Conduct on-boarding and general orientation for new hires
  • Provide assistance to managers for attendance support, conflict resolution, disciplinary support and employee coaching support
  • Provide labour relations and contract interpretation support
  • Have a valid driver license as there is a requirement for travel
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Solid knowledge of the recruitment and selection process and applicable governing laws and regulations
  • Solid knowledge of the importance of confidentiality and privacy laws
  • Labour Relations Experience
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with an electronic based HR System
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to exercise discretion, tact, diplomacy and good judgement
  • Exceptional accuracy, detail and organizational skills
Education
  • Diploma/Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 2-years working experience
Considered an Asset
  • Knowledge of all applicable collective bargaining agreements (SUN/SAHO; CUPE/SAHO) and contract interpretation.
  • Knowledge of scheduling within a 24 hour, 365 days a year operation
  • Knowledge of the Eden Alternative philosophy
  • Experience in health care, personal care and group supportive living environments
  • Professional HR designation
