We also offer a competitive wage and benefits package.THE ROLEThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing wildlife specialist expertise to field staff and project management teams. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Conducting wildlife surveys and monitoring procedures including breeding bird and herptile surveys, pre-disturbance nest surveys, nest monitoring, various sensitive species-specific surveys, construction mitigation for wildlife, bat surveys and monitoring, and herptile capture and relocationProviding technical wildlife support to collaborative project teamsManage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and deliver quality reports on scheduleLiaise with on-site client representatives and contractorsProvide quality and independent review for projectsProvide an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advise clients accordinglyWork collaboratively within the Triton corporate cultureSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSB.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology or related fieldProfessional Biologist (Alberta Society of Professional Biologists), or Registered Professional Biologist (British Columbia College of Applied Biologists), dependent on location of home office5+ years of relevant experienceExperience conducting a broad variety of wildlife scopes in pre-construction and construction settingsSpecies at Risk experience an assetFamiliarity with provincial and federal regulations and guidance materialsAbility to work in physically demanding remote field settings for extended durations, staying in a mix of camp and hotel accommodationsMulti-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and permit application processesStrong technical writing, reporting, communication, team leadership and project management skillsStrong interpersonal skills and collaborative working styleSuperior problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the boxValid drivers license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work settingHOW TO APPLYIf this opportunity sounds like you, and you are serious about joining a progressive team of environmental consultants, please apply with a resume and cover letter.Closing Date: February 28, 2023 (Will be extended as required)Website: www.triton-env.comWe look forward to receiving your resume highlighting the details of your education and work history.
