Junior Business Intelligence Analyst - INF003348Employment Type: Permanent Full-timeLocation(s): SK-Rgna-ReginaMinistry: 013 Saskbuilds and ProcurementSalary Range: $35.757-$43.530 HourlySalary Supplement: included in hourly salary range (in-scope)Grade: SGEU.09.The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies a full-range of IT services to government ministries and agencies. It supports government customers with help desk, hardware and software, application development and IT security services. The ITD also sets government-wide policies and standards in IT infrastructure, IT support services and security.The Application Management Services (AMS) Branch of the IT Division is looking for a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst (ETL Developer) for the Data Warehouse team, who can:

  • Build ETL job flows (utilizing IBM InfoSphere DataStage tool) and provide operational support for the Enterprise Data Warehouse environment;
  • Serve as a technical contact from IT Division on multiple ministry Data Warehouse projects by developing good understanding of the data structures, data relationships and reporting data models;
  • Create and maintain documentation repository of the scheduled ETL job flows and processes as needed for future maintenance and support;
  • Code ETL jobs as per design provided by the data modeler for loading data into multi-dimensional Star Schema models to facilitate reports and dashboards build;
  • Perform other support work involving enterprise BI environment tools (such as Cognos, Power BI for reporting) as and when needed;
  • Present information to wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences including executive government; and
  • Be approachable and flexible in dealing with clients, ITD staff and vendor teams.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through:
  • A University degree in computer science and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant data warehousing work experience utilizing ETL tools such as IBM DataStage, Informatica, Oracle Data Integrator or Microsoft SSIS; and
  • Previous data integration and reporting hands-on experience working with enterprise class databases, data marts, relational modelling, and data warehouse environments.
