Develop and deliver library-related instruction in various formats to meet the needs of all learners (e.g., research guides, videos, handouts, quizzes etc.)2. Collaborate with instructors and instructional designers to integrate information and digital literacy capabilities into courses and programs for blended, online, and face-to-face delivery.3. Provide research and reference services to students, faculty, staff and administrators4. Provide awareness and advisory services to faculty and programs on the topics of copyright, open access resources and academic integrity as they relate to library services and Saskatchewan Polytechnics’ academic strategic directions5. Select learning resources (print and electronic books, databases, journals etc.) for the library collection to enhance and support curriculum and professional development needs of faculty, staff, students and administrators.6. As the liaison assigned to specific schools and/or divisions,

  • coordinate advanced reference and research services for faculty, staff and administrators
  • provide literature search training and services to faculty and researchers
  • engage faculty and administrators in relevant library services and resources.
  • inform service leads, selectors and instructional librarians of gaps in service and resources
7. Collaborate with appropriate service departments to provide support services to staff, faculty and students.8. Contribute to the ongoing development of user-centred and inclusive library services, resources and programming by using appropriate assessment methods and effective project management9. Maintain awareness of librarianship through participation in professional development activities, committees and other contributions that support career development and professional growth.10. May also be assigned to coordinate a functional area of the library, such as Reference, Instruction, Digital Resources, Marketing and Communications, Collections and Borrower Services or User Experience.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCESpecific AccountabilitiesDutiesRequired Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)1. Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school (or from a master’s level program in library and information studies accredited or recognized by the appropriate national body of another country).2. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve optimal results3. Demonstrated ability to actively seek and sustain strategic, professional working relationships with various partners and client groups within and outside of an organization4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a variety of formats and situations (e.g. group presentations, meetings, written correspondence and documentation)5. Demonstrated ability to provide advanced reference services, develop effective lessons and develop useful library collections.6. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.7. Demonstrated ability to assess, incorporate and champion new technologies and methodologies into day-to-day work8. Knowledge of copyright, open access and academic integrity as they pertain to library services.9. Knowledge of project management and instructional design.10.
