Who is eHealth SaskatchewaneHealth Saskatchewan is a Treasury Board Crown Corporation with the mandate to lead Saskatchewan Electronic Health Record (EHR) planning and strategy for the Province of Saskatchewan. We have worked with our healthcare partners to make electronic the vast majority of patient healthcare information in areas such as labs, pharmacies, radiology, surgery, emergency rooms, hospitals, and we also work in partnership with the Saskatchewan Medical Association to implement Electronic Medical Records in physician clinics. Our vision is “connected healthcare, accessible to everyone, everywhere” with a mission to transform healthcare through the use of information and innovative technology. This would electronically ‘connect’ the different streams of healthcare so patient information flows between healthcare providers and the patient.The Role Datacentre Infrastructure Manager at eHealth:The Manager of Datacentre Infrastructure reports to the Director of Client and Technology Infrastructure, and provides leadership and direction to employees within core Infrastructure teams to ensure the services they provide fit with the overall strategic direction of eHealth Saskatchewan and meet or exceed associated business requirements.Further, this role develops and maintains relationships with partners and IT Service Suppliers to identify and anticipate new service requirements and opportunities. These relationships involve all organizations in the Saskatchewan Health Sector, specifically: Saskatchewan Health Authority, 3S Health, Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and the Ministry of Health.Our candidate of choice will have a proven track record at providing strong leadership to ensure that services provided fit with the overall strategic direction of eHealth Saskatchewan; demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and IT service suppliers and anticipate new service requirements and opportunities. The successful candidate will have a strong IT knowledge and proven ability to manage change in a complex business and stakeholder environment.Knowledge & Experience

  • You must be a strong leader of people
  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, other related equivalent, or related professional designation and certifications from an accredited institution
  • Relevant leadership experience in a technology oriented function
  • Strong people management and leadership skills to contribute to the technology division goals and objectives in supporting the Saskatchewan health system
  • Ability to own and drive new and challenging processes and change across the organization and clients
  • Strong project management skills which include experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors
  • Customer focused approach and good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and presentational skills; ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences including senior management
  • Influencing and negotiating: Has the confidence and political savvy to influence and challenge at senior levels
  • Flexibility to shift work hours as required to manage teams to enable 24x7x365 support of mission critical infrastructure
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, managers, suppliers and stakeholders. Understands the importance of developing effective partnership relationships with key suppliers
  • Capable of training, supervising and managing staff
  • Ability to monitor processes, identify gaps, document and implement process improvements
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of concepts related to enterprise backup and storage, Linux/Unix/Windows server operating systems, compute infrastructure, datacentre management, automation, and underlying support systems
