We proudly promote, showcase, strengthen and preserve our diverse heritage and culture ensuring that Saskatchewan’s Capital City is significant, impressive and demonstrates pride in its culture and history.The Government House and Edwardian Gardens is a heritage building, and a working office to the Lieutenant Governor. Hosting numerous celebratory events that recognize Saskatchewan citizens and their efforts and honours the province’s rich history and democracy. We hold amazing award ceremonies and visitor experiences that are second to none while working in partnership with our stakeholders to create and share these experiences for our citizens and visitors of the Capital City.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an innovative, creative, and energetic individual for the Manager of Government House and Edwardian Gardens. One who will work diligently to create amazing events that showcase Regina’s diverse heritage and culture. With a dedicated team of staff, diverse partners and creating experiences and memories with their exhibits, collections, programming, and outreach, you will also be responsibilities complete following:

  • Develop the strategic plans for capital projects (collaborating with stakeholders),
  • Develop and lead strategic direction, vision and guidelines for the PCC branch,
  • Liaise with the Lieutenant Governor’s Office on events and celebrations, public/educational programs, and legacy projects,
  • Manage staff, and stakeholders in developing, creating and implementing visitor experiences, and events,
  • Develop and manage (operations, and preservation of National Historic Sites, grounds use, traffic flow, safety, and accessibility),
  • Ensure procedures, standards, preservation and conservation protocols are maintained, assets are documented, and protocols are followed (front of house and Royal or dignitary visits),
  • Manage (forecast) the operational expenditures and salary budget, and
  • Establish and foster strong, positive partnerships with volunteer organizations (Government House Historical Society and Government House Foundation), and community partners.
Typically, this position would have a background and relevant experience in Political Studies, Political Science, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Planning, Project Management, and Policy.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate possesses human resource management skills and demonstrates exceptional leadership experience to manage and supervise staff, to manage programs, services, and work with varying stakeholders (board members, agencies, volunteers) collaboratively. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and keen innovative and creative ideas generate positive results that meet the goals of the branch, strategic plan, and balance the needs and interests of all. You encourage and create a continuous improvement and innovative work environment leading initiatives, managing change, making decisions, and resolving issues effectively. The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skill and ability in the following.
  • Human Resource Management and practices,
  • Experience working with (Boards, Commissions, Agencies and private and public) governance,
  • Policy, protocols, standards, legislation, and practices relevant to heritage properties/historical sites,
  • Budgeting and forecasting,
  • Program/Service development, management and operations,
  • Strategic planning, and
  • Conflict Resolution, Mediation, and Negotiating skills.
