Job Description

The Manager, Information Technology & Business Intelligence serves in a cross functional role, supporting all parts of the Club’s business activities, including but not limited to Ticket Operations, Retail Operations, Marketing. This role is responsible for three key areas which include the Club’s IT systems and hardware, software platforms and cloud services, and data infrastructure and analytics practice. This is a hands-on position managing day to day software platform marketing and technical functions, including but not limited to data acquisition, data structure design, data management and analysis, digital marketing engagement (email, web, social, mobile), data segmentation and targeting, marketing program execution.Where will your talents be focused (includes but is not limited to)

  • Leading the strategy, design and maintenance of data and BI platforms and software and ensuring it aligns to the Club’s strategy.
  • Responsible for leading and managing the Club’s Programmer Analyst in the areas of data engineering, reporting, analysis practice and implementation.
  • Proactively overseeing the Club’s data ecosystem including the performance of all data pipelines into the Club’s data repositories.
  • Leading the internal research including survey design and communication support for execution and maintenance.
  • Leading and continuing to develop the Club’s customer segments and persona research practice including educating and advocating the use across the organization.
  • Working closely with marketing to manage the Club’s Mobile Apps.
  • Developing and implementing creative technology solutions for marketing, ticketing and retail for customer or internal facing applications.
  • Measuring marketing program effectiveness and impact by demonstrated experience in analyzing data and reporting on findings.
  • Being the Club’s technology representative for CFL working groups and other knowledge and data initiatives.
  • Responsible for the project management regarding IT and BI projects of the Club.
  • Developing departmental IT and BI goals and KPIs that are aligned to the Club’s overall strategy.
  • Management responsibilities include overseeing team member, planning & budgeting related to department objectives, strategies, tactics and measurements for the departments KPIs.
  • For the 2022 year, the role will be a contributor of the planning and execution of Grey Cup 2022 as it relates to the core responsibilities.
What’s needed to be successful in this role
  • Demonstrated experience in an Information Technology and/or Business Intelligence role for a minimum of five years paired with a completion of secondary education, specializing in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing software platforms including e-marketing, CRM, and database software.
  • Demonstrates ability in programming (HTML/CSS/JS, Python, SQL)
  • Experience in integrating platforms using REST API’s
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Services architecture, Cloud Service Management tools and experience in developing and deploying Cloud Services.
  • Existing knowledge and experience troubleshooting and interpreting problems associated with CRM platforms and Cloud services, ability to resolve problems using past experience in database management.
  • Demonstrated experience with vendor management including contracts, billing and overall relationship management.
  • Leadership in mobile app design, programming and/or support will be considered an asset.
  • Existing knowledge and/or experience in some or all of the following platforms & software tools would be of value: Tableau Reporting; Ticketmaster; SSB Data Warehouse; Erply & Shopify Retail; Yinzcam & Rover Apps.
  • Talent for developing and executing overarching information technology strategy.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with various departments, in particular Sales, Marketing, Retail and Business relations, and external partners with varying technical knowledge.
  • Detail oriented with great time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Through leadership of a creative team, willing to push the limits on design trends to continually evolve the brand.
  • Solution focused approach with a passion to seek out information and approach challenges with a methodical approach.
  • Promotes a culture of trust, integrity and open communications while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to develop a positive team environment.
  • Passion and drive reflective in all work.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours when needed, such as game days or outside of core hours during peak periods.
