Technology is changing the world….start your career with ISM and get a front row seat!Close Date: September 13, 2022The Manager, Network & Security Solutions, is accountable for establishing strategies and procedures for delivery of Network & Security Services, to meet our customers business needs. The Manager, Network & Security Solutions will provide thought leadership and will interface with customers, lead project teams, including direct reports, and will be responsible for maintaining, improving, measuring, and growing the assigned service(s).The Manager, Network & Security Solutions will report directly to the Senior Manager, Network & Security Services. This is an Out-of-Scope role subject to regular business working conditions and occasional travel is a requirement of the role. This role is also expected to evolve as ISM Canada’s business evolves.Note: The preferred location for this position is Regina, SK; however, the location will also be dependent on the location of the successful candidate.Responsibilities:

  • Sets the direction and oversight of the Network & Security Solutions team to foster a client-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques
  • Works with the I&O leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources, including budget
  • Acts as a trusted advisor and builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs. Ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and is able to respond with the agility required to address changing business priorities
  • Defines network security attributes by working with Cyber-Security, Security Compliance & Network Infrastructure teams on the appropriate security platforms providing robust, scalable & sustainable network security services.
  • Defines strategies to automate identification and remediation of network and application performance issues.
  • Creates roadmaps to advance key service offerings and identity opportunities, develops service offerings for the Network & Security Services.
  • Drives engagement with vendors, analyze trends, news and changes in relevant technical areas.
  • Provides project coordination of network security staff in the design & configuration for delivering security architectures & services.
  • Drives the adoption and commitment to continual service improvement
  • Assists with pre-sales and post-sales (business development and provide input into strategy)
  • Responds to RFP’s, SOW, etc.
  • Ensures excellent Customer onboarding experience, and champions the Transition to Operation processes to ensure continuous customer support
  • Ensures all customer accounts are referenceable
  • Champions I&O involvement in the ISM’s innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to the Tier 3 technical support team for Network & Security Operations
  • Leverage customer feedback to continuously improve
  • Continuous growth of service(s) – ensure service maturity & scalability
  • Provides service leadership and guidance to customers, team members, and senior leadership
  • Develops, directs, coaches, mentors and reinforces team members in line with the mission, vision, values, goals and performance standards of formal and informal teams
  • Works with People & Culture and the ISM leadership team to develop an I&O "talent strategy" that aligns with the current and future business and strategy. Continually looks for leading-edge and innovative solutions to the recruitment, development and retention of the I&O workforce
  • Forecasts future skill and competency needs to acquire and develop an effective workforce. Requires an appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies that balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring that the core IT functions are reliable, stable and efficient
  • Sets, monitors, provides and reinforces overall team performance feedback, including productivity, performance improvement and decisions/approvals with respect to rewards, redeployment and termination
  • Committed to the development of your team (allocate time to ensure each employee has a career development plan, that they execute their development plan, and you mentor & coach each of them)
  • Establish a vision and strategy for your team that is understood, and attainable
  • Ensure your team knows how their work aligns to ISM’s strategy and your teams’ strategy, and why their contributions are important
  • Set clear expectations for your people, and ensure the expectations are understood (and that you understand their expectations)
  • Establishment of key measures for your team and manage to those measures
  • Actively manage the performance of your team
  • Provide the resources your team needs to be successful and perform their jobs
Qualifications:
  • University degree Computer Science/Data Processing, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training, and 10+ years of progressive service in IT
  • 5 to 7 years of leadership experience, leading large, cross-functional teams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills
  • 5 to 10 years experience working in a Network Operations environment
  • Strong vendor management and partner relation skills to identify and leverage resources internal and external to the enterprise to enhance capabilities that support business objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce, internal and external clients
  • Deliver effective service management through the definition and adoption of a governance practice that uses SLAs, KPIs and metrics to track and measure the quality of service. Integrates them with key accountability to ensure consistency of approach and continual service improvement
  • Knowledge of ITIL Methodology V3 and V4 is essential
  • Proven experience managing and/or delivering similar services with increasing degree of responsibility and proven track record with the ability to execute according to plan
  • Experience should include high impact service delivery in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment
  • Experience leading a team in a cross-functional / project-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated understanding and skills in routing & switching to aid in understanding network architectures and determine ingress & egress points to enable security controls.
  • Experience working with security vendors like Juniper, Fortinet, OKTA, Cisco Duo & NGFW, Palo Alto Prisma, Aruba ClearPass, Zscaler adopting SASE model of security.
  • Cisco (CCNP, CCIE), Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS), Aruba (ACSA, ACNSA), or relevant network certifications is an asset.
Key Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to read, write and speak both English and French considered an asset
  • Strong background in networking technologies (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper) and experience with enterprise network tooling
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large, multifunctional teams
  • Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with ISM business strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a people plan that ensures the right people are in the right roles at the right time, and employees are highly engaged and satisfied
  • Practical experience in developing and implementing a high-performing ITSM environment and knowledge of "what excellence looks like"
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving and Decision-Making methodologies, preferably Kepner Tregoe
