Company ProfileMinto Explorations Ltd is a Yukon-based mining company that operates the Minto copper, gold underground mine. It is located 240 kilometers north of Whitehorse along the Klondike Highway. We have a dynamic fast-paced environment with satellite offices in Whitehorse and Calgary.We are looking for people with dynamic skill sets and a strong work ethic to be part of our team!PositionWe are seeking Mill Operations Supervisor for a full-time/regular position. The role will report directly into the General Foreman and will be based at the Minto mine, which is a camp-based operation with a two week on/two weeks off rotation.The Ideal CandidateYou will have;· Bachelor’s degree in Mining, or related equivalent experience;· Three (3) years of experience in a Copper milling operation with experience in all aspects of the Mill Concentrator;· Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a mineral processing facility, preferable underground mining/milling Copper/Gold operations;· Strong sense of integrity, ethics and desire to positively impact the environment;· Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships;· Ability to lead and develop a diverse team;· Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce;· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;· Valid driver's license;· Standard First Aid Certificate;· Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, coordinate and coach the activities of employees engaged in the milling processes;
  • Ensure operators are trained and experienced for assigned tasks;
  • Ensure employees perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment and perform all job functions per Safe Operating Procedures;
  • Monitor equipment and processes, and conduct troubleshooting activities when problems arise;
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of all safety policies and procedures affecting the Milling Operation;
  • Lead by example and establish a safety culture through daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings;
  • Perform ongoing inspections and risk assessments to identify and address unsafe conditions or hazards in the workplace;
  • Establish and maintain effective two-way communication channels with management and employees to achieve identified production targets;
  • Ensure that in all aspects of the operation, environmental policies and practices are followed keeping the preservation of the natural environment a priority;
  • Document employee attendance and hours worked;
  • Schedule and conduct ongoing job performance evaluations;
  • Implementation of corrective action when required;
  • Develop future proficient equipment operators from within the crew;
  • Ensure that safety issues are reported and promptly remedied;
  • Demonstrate safety leadership within a team environment and promote environmental awareness in all work or task related duties;
  • Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties;
  • Be an effective communicator in English (verbal and written) at all levels, including keeping your cross-shift and other team members fully informed at all times
  • Participate in site-specific training;
  • Comply with company standards, as well as Yukon Territory and Canadian federal standards;
  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company.
