The position of the Parts Consultant is a crucial part of Capital Automotive Group’s everyday process in making sure vehicles coming in are completed in a timely manner. This person should be effective at maintaining a relationship with suppliers and be meticulous about ordering accurate inventory.Job DutiesWork alongside with production manager and repair plannerAccurately identify parts necessary to complete repairs in and booked in for the shopWork with and maintain relationships with vendors to locate and order partsOrder parts by phone, online and through body shop management systemReceive parts and inspect for claims quality and accuracyEnsure timely distribution to the shop in accordance with the production scheduleReceive, tag and distribute parts immediately upon receipt or by 9 am for overnight deliveriesReceiving and scanning invoices of parts shipments as they arrive, providing them to the repair plannerSupplies Body Shop Technicians with parts as requiredVerify correct parts with a mirror matchReturn and re-order incorrect or damaged partsTrack incomplete order status (outstanding orders, backorders, and credits) and follow up as necessaryCoordinating with Technicians and estimator on the supplemental damageManage inventory, order parts, create purchase orders and receipt invoices according to company standards and policyAnswers and directs incoming phone calls and inquiries promptly, thoroughly, courteously and accuratelyAssists in keeping parts department and shop clean, orderly, and well-stockedAssists in the detailing process of vehicles when necessaryPlaces ordered parts on assigned part racks and carts in a timely mannerAssists in maintaining all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicle.Post parts and sublet invoices and maintain an accurate accounting record of the partKeep work area clean and well organizedPerform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective repairFollow all company safety policies and procedures at all timesOther duties deemed necessary by managementQualificationsAbility to read and comprehend instructions and informationOne year of experience in a retail or wholesale parts departmentAbility to interpret vendor catalogsAbility to use parts department computer systemGood communication skillsHold a drivers license, with a clean driving record
