Job Description

Position SummaryThis role focuses on maintaining our ongoing client relationships in the manufacturing industry. With a demonstrated ability to successfully execute a complex $500M project, the successful candidate will focus on furthering a career by leading a team of 8 to 10 talented project controls consultants. Capitalizing on the company’s reputation for project execution excellence, the successful applicant will target work in our aligned market sectors.The ideal candidate must possess construction project experience, be comfortable with multi-project tasking, be organized, be detail-oriented, be clear in communicating with multiple teams (internal and external clients), and be driven. Anticipated responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist project managers with field administration/coordination of ongoing construction activities.
  • Generate monthly project controls reports based on progress reported in schedules, cost reports, changelogs, etc.
  • Communicate with the prime contractor, subcontractors, and others regarding schedule slips and budget overruns and assess potential change order work, etc.
  • Coordinate with project manager and client’s financial consultant in reviewing monthly invoices and paying applicants.
  • Assist project managers with contract administration items such as RFIs and submittals.
  • Review integrated master schedule and conduct schedule analysis and what-if scenarios for potential schedule delays.
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required.
  • 10-plus years with project controls and scheduling with progressive responsibilities required.
  • Demonstrated experience as a project controls manager capable of managing large ($500 million) budgets/costs and scheduling required.
  • Ability to work onsite in Regina, Saskatchewan province required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in process industries (oil/gas, manufacturing, water/wastewater, mining, chemical) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working in “cost plus fixed fee” contracts preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working in turnaround projects executed on a time and materials basis required.
  • Hands-on scheduling experience with Primavera P6 including schedule analytics required.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents (plans and specifications) required.
  • Strong understanding of change management workflow/process required.
  • Strong problem-solving insight/skills required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written, required
  • Team player attributes required.
