Job Description

Through demonstrating our core values of respect, transparency, care, excellence, and innovation, we stand out from the rest and create a growth-driven organization.Universal Collision CenterPlans, co-ordinates, and directs the collision centers quality control efforts, ensuring that repairs to customers’ cars have been completed correctly and that vehicles are returned to customers in the proper condition.The Quality Control Manager will also be responsible for estimating parts and labour requirements and costs for repairs. The incumbent examines the extent of damages on vehicles and provides estimates to customers while ensuring superior customer service is always provided.Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates these objectives with other managers
  • Establish quality procedures, standards, and specifications
  • Collaborate with other organization managers to ensure materials from external
  • suppliers meet quality requirements
  • Set and enforce standards for health and safety during work operations
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are in compliance with Universal Collision Centre’s standards
  • Provide recommendations management on ways to improve on existing quality
  • processes
  • Review existing process and product specification to identify the need for
  • improvement or upgrade
  • Approve compliant products and reject defective ones
  • Maintain proper records of quality test, procedures, and standards.
  • Minimizes comebacks by conducting periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality
  • Investigates and corrects customer complaints regarding quality
  • Inspects vehicles to ensure proper correction and condition of vehicle
  • Inspects all repair orders and ensures that they include complete documentation and that proper warranty procedures have been followed
  • Estimate parts and labour requirements to repair damages to vehicles
  • Examine damages to vehicles to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, electrical, or interior damage
  • Review repair-cost estimates with managers to ensure proper estimate was
  • determined
  • Prepare estimate documentation for customers; maintain accurate documentation and obtain customer signatures as required
  • Speak directly with customers to explain repair estimates and answer any questions
  • Understands and follows all applicable regulations, OH&S requirements and Right-to-Know
  • Any other duties as required
Requirements:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
  • maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Body Shop environment
  • Unrestricted driver’s license and ability to drive automatic and manual transmissions
  • Body Shop and automotive service knowledge and experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain professionalism during high-volume periods
  • Self-driven to work independently with the ability to work effectively and
  • collaboratively in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of body shop software such as Mitchell is an asset but not mandatory
