Job Description

The Information Technology team is hiring a Server and Storage Analyst on a permanent full-time basis at our Co-op Refinery Complex in Regina, SK.What you’ll do:You will design, install, administer, and optimize CRC Datacenter servers, storage systems, and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. You will also be responsible for core infrastructure to support all aspects of the Innovation CRS teams.

  • Creation and modification of administration and provisioning procedures for the existing storage systems, vmware environments, backup/recover systems, Windows Servers, Active Directory, VDI, and Email Systems. Prepare & deliver presentations to managers, directors & VP of Technology.
  • Provide 3rd level support to the service desk team and direct support to the application teams for the server, storage and applications. Working with vendors, partners, contractors and other members of the CRS to provide support and solutions. Provide technical options for new & existing infrastructure related systems across various business units. Provide technical options for improvements to new and existing systems and processes.
  • Creation and modification of patch management procedures on server and storage platforms including firmware updates and software updates to maintain supported version levels & execution of complex changes on the existing platforms.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization to the existing infrastructure to meet SLAs. Provide design proposals for improved system performance and availability.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing support of the backup and disaster recovery system and procedures.
  • Monitor & administer the backup solution to ensure all systems are properly backed up in event of a disaster.
  • Provide periodic 24/7 on-call support during non-business hours for the data center/server farm to meet established SLAs.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or related field.
  • You have a minimum of 6 - 9 years of relevant work experience in information technology – must be comfortable working in complex server environments. Experience in server and storage administration is required (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • If you’re familiar with any of these certifications would be an asset; MCSE/MCSA, VCP/VCAP.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
