Supervisor of Accounting - FIN004820Employment Type: Permanent Full-timeLocation(s): SK-Rgna-ReginaMinistry: 510 Apprenticeship and Trade Cert CommissionSalary Range: $41.174-$51.598 HourlyGrade: SGEU.12.The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is seeking a highly motivated and results oriented financial professional to join its Corporate Services team as the Supervisor of Accounting. The successful candidate must be a team player, able to both lead and collaborate, have a reputation for integrity and a focus on service excellence and innovation in their work. The position is located in Regina and reports to the Manager of Finance.The Supervisor oversees day-to-day accounting functions, reconciliation, reporting, contract management and record retention management. This role provides support and direction to teams on accounting treatments, budgeting, forecasting and year-end financial statement preparation. The Supervisor develops and enforces quality and internal control standards.Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of financial reporting frameworks and financial analysis tools. The candidate will possess expertise in development and implementation of new accounting policies, procedures and practices to ensure proper controls and risk mitigation, quality assurance, work flow efficiencies, and reporting mechanisms in response to legislative, policy, program and system changes.The successful candidate will have the ability to lead, guide and coach employees to enhance their job performance and further develop their skills. You will also have the ability to plan, prioritize and organize a large volume of tasks and projects for yourself and/or others taking into consideration frequent interruptions and conflicting and changing priorities to meet deadlines. You will demonstrate excellent supervision, communication, interpersonal and public relations skills and have a service-oriented approach.The knowledge for this position is typically obtained through a degree in Business or similar post-secondary education. Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet systems and program management is required, an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Previous experience working with MIDAS is required and experience with Oracle e-business, and/or with other financial/IT systems is an advantage.
