Job Description

Brandt is currently looking to fill a Technical Communicator - Truck & Trailer position in our Regina Customer Support Centre.This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to Brandt Service Departments within our Peterbilt truck dealerships, improving communication, increasing service revenue, and identifying training needs for the Brandt Truck and Trailer division.The ideal candidate will be a Heavy-Duty Technician by trade, have experience with machine troubleshooting, will have a high level of computer skills and good communication. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a proactive approach to repairs and lifecycle planning by utilizing the latest technologies and available equipment data to provide recommendations that allow our technicians to repair machines faster and more efficiently. The role will enhance the Peterbilt and Brandt customer experience.This position is a great opportunity for experienced technicians with an aptitude for technology, or individuals with a technology background and an aptitude for mechanical systems.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Technical assistance requests from Brandt Service Departments for hard-to-diagnose cases
  • Manage and handle communication to service departments
  • Identify technician training opportunities
  • Develops repair procedures for emerging issues, product improvements and warranty work to increase technician efficiencies and increase revenue
  • Utilize PACCAR technologies to help diagnose and assist Brandt service departments and our customers
    • To generate diagnostic revenue
    • To help branches reduce multiple service field trips
  • Works closely with Machine Monitoring, Brandt Service times and Proactive Maintenance teams to address equipment abnormalities, quote more efficiently and drive revenue opportunities
  • Effectively communicate the appropriate actions to the Service Departments via telephone, e-mail or ticketing system
  • Follow up on previous recommendation to ensure problem resolution and identify learning opportunities
  • Meet KPI’s for Brandt Technical Assistance Center (BTAC)
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Identifies Re-life and sales opportunities
  • Report regularly on
    • New emerging issues
    • Open cases
    • Machine lifecycle planning
  • Update and maintain the Technical Solution Database
Required SkillsRequired Experience
  • Red seal heavy duty technician certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ service experience in the trucking or equipment industry
  • Strong background in computer applications and analytics
  • Knowledge of equipment & dealership service departments
  • Ability to filter and correlate the different data source to create an accurate recommendation.
  • Knowledge of machine application, design, functionality and understanding the environmental effect on the equipment performance
  • Understand effective inspection process and equipment lifecycle planning
  • Bilingual is an asset but not required
  • Travel may be required
