Job Description

Now that you have gained industry knowledge from your undergraduate program, it is time to take what you’ve learned and apply it! Within Ecolab, our Technical Service Summer Student will develop essential skills by actively supporting activities needed to conduct, monitor, or evaluate Nalco Water’s businesses in the institutional/light industrial/food and beverage manufacturing industry.During this internship you will help identify and propose solutions to preserve energy and water, minimize our customers’ environmental footprint and increase productivity overall. You will learn how to take a consultative sales approach with a primary emphasis on strong account leadership skills and retention of strategic accounts. You will also learn how to build long-term relationships with a customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and offering new technologies.What’s in it For You:

What You Will Do:
  • Work independently and along-side successful Account Managers to learn customers operations, understand their challenges and devise solutions to meet their needs.
  • Gain exposure to Nalco Water customers and industry, engage in daily support functions of Nalco Water’s business.
  • Conduct water testing and reporting in a variety of industries including Food and Beverage Manufacturing, Light Industrial and Institutional/Hospitality.
  • Support calibration of equipment, inventory management and provide customer service.
  • Assist with district projects as needed.
Position Details:
  • Based in Regina or Saskatoon with regular travel throughout the region, including some travel to Yorkton, Moosomin, Esteven
  • Travel/mileage expenses reimbursed
  • May 2022 to September 1, 2022, 40 hours/week
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Recently graduated or pursuing undergraduate degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Power), Chemistry or equivalent (anticipated completion in 2022 or 2023 preferred).
  • Able to lift and carry 50lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Regular access to a vehicle to travel daily throughout the territory.
  • Proof of covid 19 vaccination will be a condition of employment.
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal business systems)
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness and ability to learn water treatment chemical applications and automation
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness and ability to work in commercial and manufacturing environments
  • Ability to learn from a mentor and apply training at customer sites.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a safety-focused environment.
