CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Academic Number of Vacancies 1 Position SummaryThe Faculty of Education at the University of Regina is inviting applications for an Assistant Professor in Health, Outdoor, and Physical Education (HOPE) for a full-time, tenure-track position appointment with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2022.HOPE embraces developmental, place-based, experiential, multi-sensory, and interdisciplinary learning while reinforcing the core values of the Faculty of Education and the focus of the University’s Strategic Plan – All Our Relations: kahkiyaw kiwâhkômâkaninawak. Built on a foundation of education through health, outdoor/land-based and physical education, the program exemplifies and reflects the importance of personal and social well-being, and a responsibility to teach for ecological and social justice.The successful individual will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in Physical Education and Outdoor/Land-based Education, and/or Health Education, assuming active involvement in the HOPE Subject area, supervising graduate students, supervising undergraduate students in field experiences, and working on faculty committees. They will assume active involvement in collegial governance and engage in individual and collaborative scholarly research.Position RequirementsThe ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D. degree or be near completion when taking up the position, with an academic focus on Physical Education and expertise in Outdoor Education and/or Land-based Education, a current teaching certificate and successful teaching experience in K-12 environments. The individual should have an active research agenda or demonstrate an ability to engage in high quality research. Teaching experience in a university setting is an asset.Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Assistant Professor Salary Range Depending on qualifications and experience, normally in the Assistant Professor range ($89,914 - $113,562) as per URFA Collective Agreement.
