Job Description

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is currently searching for a Change Management Specialist to join our team in Burnaby! The Change Management Specialist is responsible for assessing change readiness for projects and initiatives, developing and implementing change management strategies and plans, and all other change management-related activities for key projects and initiatives that have stakeholder impacts. The Change Management Specialist provides both strategic and tactical advice to Leadership, the Executive, and project teams and leads. This position works within the Project Management Office (PMO) and is responsible for minimizing impacts from organizational change by increasing employees’ understanding of and commitment to project and organizational goals.We are looking for someone with demonstrated expertise in change management standards, methodology, and best practices. The successful candidate will also be flexible, able to tailor approaches, strategies and plans to fit the project or organizational situation.   • Applying a structured change management methodology to lead all change management activities. Leveraging the methodologies, processes, and tools to create a strategy to support the adoption of and commitment to changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Assessing organizational and individual readiness for proposed changes. Assessing scope, intensity, impact of the change against organizational capacity (e.g. workload, working conditions and staffing levels) and readiness to introduce and support the change. Making project or initiative recommendations based upon analysis.
  • Collaborating with project managers and business leads to ensure change management practices and activities are included in the planning and execution of new projects. Assisting in analyzing risks and preparing risk management tactics from a change management lens. Identifying and managing project resistance.
  • Creating actionable deliverables to support change management strategies and plans that lessen the impact of organizational change, including but not limited to the following: organizational and change readiness assessments, sponsor roadmaps, stakeholder assessments, change management risk assessments, communications and engagement plans, training assessments and plans, resistance plans and sustainment plans.
  • Assessing the training needs for initiatives to support change adoption. Developing or supporting the design and delivery of training programs. Delivering training as required.
  • Building strong relationships across the organization and leveraging relationships with internal stakeholders to facilitate organizational understanding of employee change journeys.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert within the organization for questions regarding change management best practices.
  • Defining, monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing change management success measures; reporting on change management progress throughout the lifecycle of projects and initiatives. Providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE The successful applicant will possess the following:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree is required.
  • Prosci, CCMP, or equivalent change management certification is required.
  • 5-7 years progressive relevant experience leading change management processes and providing guidance on change management within a growing organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of change management strategies, terminology, and processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of communication tools and techniques. Ability to build strong relationships across the organization and engage internal stakeholders. Experience developing and executing change-related communications plans and artifacts.
  • Experience building, analyzing, and reporting on change-related KPIs.
  • Coaching and facilitation skills, including designing and delivering training.
