Look no further; our Revelstoke office is actively looking for someone just like you!Position SummaryThe Production Administrative Assistant will support the Yard Supervisor by processing pole transactions, including shipments, payables, inventory and sales invoices. The position includes general office and accounting duties.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Production Transactions
  • Create bills of lading (BOL) for inventory shipments (truck and rail).
  • Weigh-in/weigh-out of trucks delivering “barkies”.
  • Validate piece counts on loads to ensure accuracy of shipping quantities.
  • Create intercompany invoices for shipments to US plants, preparing necessary paperwork for cross-border shipping.
  • Release rail cars in timely fashion to avoid demurrage charges.
  • Assists production accounting in annual inventory counts.
  • Receiving barkie loads in scale system and validating Timbermarks are active.
  • Import hand-scale and classing data to scale system.
  • Review classing reports and export completed loads daily to LIMS.
  • Track non-pole volumes in scale system and non-pole inventory in spreadsheet for inventory validation.
  • Enter sales in ERP and generate invoices for customers as well as non-pole sales report.
Accounting/General Office
  • Summarize hours in spreadsheet for submission to payroll.
  • Circulate payables invoices for coding and approval, post yard operating payables and forward to Salmon Arm branch for review and cheque runs.
  • Orders office supplies.
  • Answer phone and greets visitors.
  • Pick-up, sort and circulate mail/faxes, setup/receive couriers, etc.
  • Deal with people picking-up firewood.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Certificate in Accounting (asset) or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related field.
  • Weighmaster certification, an asset.
