Please reach out to us to learn more!Job Function:Administer and monitor contractual obligations for third party telecom services required by Hydro One Networks and Acronym Solutions. Assist in developing telecom services solutions, contract negotiations, managing vendor performance and costs.

• Monitor and manage service billing, delivery, and maintenance. Provide oversight of break/fix, moves, adds, changes, and deletions of telecom services. Authorize and prioritize work according to corporate standards.
• Assist in contract negotiations related for telecom services. Monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to contractual terms and conditions.
• Develop, implement and maintain cost reporting and control systems to monitor and control costs.
• Carry out special studies, analysis and evaluations relative to the acquisition and management of telecom field services, and telecom equipment contracts. Analyze financial and technical aspect. Review overall cost and technical requirements and make recommendations to Supervisor to articulate and promote improvements. Develop for the Supervisor or users of telecom services detailed studies and short-term and long range plans relating to the use and maintenance of equipment and services.
• Conduct studies, develop policies, work methods, operating procedures and make effective recommendations for approval of appropriate company policies for the acquisition and management of telecom services arrived at through work study, analysis, feasibility study and/or other techniques. Perform cost-benefit analysis. Evaluate issues with existing services, integration compatibility, staff effects, utilization of equipment, maintenance availability, etc. Ensure Corporate Security and Health & Safety policies are met.
• Work with field business unit organizations to develop telecom service plans and alternatives to ensure effective implementation.
• Work with other staff and departments to develop specifications and tendering documents for product and service purchases. Review and evaluate associated tender bids based on financial (impact on budgets and work programs), technical and other aspects. Assist in the preparation of necessary purchasing documentation and submit to appropriate authority for approval. Develop and monitor service delivery schedules, resolve problems related to installation, service level metrics etc. Liaise with other departments and suppliers regarding procurement aspects, including the development and negotiation of terms and conditions for purchasing contracts for products and services.
• Meet with telecom service providers on a regular basis in order to monitor work performed and ensure corrective actions are taken as required in order to meet service level metrics. Coordinate the activities of telecom service providers. Ensure that their work activities tie in with work force. Participate as a team member on special projects teams or committees and provide specialized expertise related to telecom services.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and business plan for Hydro One Networks and Acronym for telecom services.
• Maintain current knowledge of new technology and concepts in the telecom industry through published material, training and ongoing contact with suppliers.
• Assist in implementing and enhancing tools and processes to continuously improve work efficiency in the department.
• Perform other duties as required.

Selection Criteria:

• Requires knowledge in telecommunication technologies (voice and data), security and communications systems operation. Knowledge in scheduling, estimating, cost control techniques, evaluating contract risks, developing and administering contracts
• Requires good knowledge of the English language to communicate effectively. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training or significant industry experience
• Requires experience in contract negotiation and administration of third party telecom services
• Experience with operation of large business office telecom systems for voice and data services
• Prior experience working in a large company and understanding the organization structure and facilities, including site access, health & safety and security requirements. A period of over 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience
• Holder of Class G driver’s license to be able to visit customer sites independently
• Overnight absence from home will be required.
