Today, we’re focused on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring we are building safe communities where we live, work and play.It’s an exciting time to join the team at Hydro One!General Accountabilities:Reporting to the Change Management Group Lead, the successful incumbent will be required to review all proposed changes to Hydro One telecommunication networks and supported networks. The changes must be reviewed to ensure the following:Identify telecommunication impact to Hydro One networks and customer servicesPerform risk analysis on scheduled telecom changes and planned maintenance activitiesThe work complies with customer service level agreementsThe work is scheduled in consideration of other changesThe change is recorded and submitted electronically in the telecom ticketing system with sufficient lead-time for proper reviewDetails such as back out plan, scope of work, implementation plan, and impact of the change are includedReview documentation submitted for completenessReview operational databases for completeness (e.g. Granite)New equipment, networks and services being installed are properly commissioned into Operations, monitored and alarmed to the ITMC Operations CentreFollow the Change Management process for all types of changesRun impact analysis reports in Granite, HP, NE and BOBJ toolsCommunicate effectively and appropriately with customers when notifying them of scheduled changesAssist with the development of Change Management process improvementsEnforce Hydro One Telecom’s change management process within Hydro One Telecom, Hydro One Inc, and external service providersPerform other duties as required.Selection CriteriaEssential CompetenciesA good knowledge and experience with telecommunication devices and networks; such as media converters, switches, routing and security protocols, VPLS, MPLS technologies, internet services, Power System telecommunications, and telecom transport networks (SONET, DWDM)Requires experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office, Visio, HP Service Desk ticketing, NOMS, Network Engineer and GraniteMust have good communication/customer service skills.This knowledge is normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years) in the appropriate field, such as electrical engineering or telecommunications, or by having the equivalent level of experience.A period of over four, up to and including six years, is considered necessary to gain this experience.At Hydro One we understand that the success and strength of our business rests with our people.
