Job Description

DescriptionProfessional social work involving the provision of services/ interventions to individuals and groups to improve social functioning. The work involves identification of social needs and recommending appropriate action. Employees are responsible for counselling students, acting as a resource to educators and are establishing/ maintaining effective working relationships with pupils, parents, teaching staff, groups, other government departments, community agencies and the public.Reports toDirector of Education Support Services, Connie Daley, and School Principal, Shaun Fletcher.Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work
  • Registered with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Written and spoken English is required.
SalaryIn accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees (Professional Support Group) Collective Agreement, $2,389.83 - $3,035.01 bi-weekly (effective July 1, 2022).This is an open competition; however, in accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees Collective Agreement, should unionized employees under this bargaining group apply, employees shall be selected based on skill, ability and qualifications. Where skill, qualifications and ability are relatively equal amongst union applicants, the vacancy will be filled based on seniority within the bargaining unit. If there are no union applicants, the position will be filled from qualified applicants for this competition. Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.
