Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:·Review financial statements, corporate tax returns, personal tax returns, T5013 Partnership Returns, T3 Trust Returns, T4/T4A/NR4/T5 Information Slips, T5001 Tax Shelter Slips, GST and EHT Returns, ETD calculations, WSIB calculations.·Review of client engagements files.·Maintain excellent client relationships.·Manage multiple engagements.·Respond to information requests from clients and tax authorities.·Schedule team members for engagements, including preparing long-range schedule and updating current schedule.·Develop course of action, including coordination of start dates, planning and completion of engagements.·Assist Associates and Senior Associates in planning engagements, preparing budgets, including assessing risk, suggesting procedures and guidance regarding approach.·Communicate engagement issues to relevant team members.·Communicate with clients with respect to all aspects of the engagement such as, documentation requirements, timing, tax balance owing, and billing.·Supervise and monitor fieldwork, including guidance on executing audit procedures, dealing with problems, and technical assistance.·Train and develop Associates, Senior Associates and Co-op students.·Conduct annual performance review with team.·Review file timelines and draft invoices for billing.·Meet billable target hours.Requirements:·Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.·1-2 years of experience managing a team of Professionals within the Public Accounting·industry.·Experience with T1, T2, T3 and other tax forms mandatory.·Strong technical background in Canadian Income Tax.·Experience with CaseWare, and CCH (Tax Prep) considered an asset.·Excellent verbal and written communication skills.·Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills·Excellent organizational and time management skills.·Ability to take initiative and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment characterized by changing priorities.·Experience using Microsoft Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OutlookPowered by JazzHR
