Explore our amazing new opportunities.Department: Employment and Entrepreneurship ServicesProgram: WorkBCNumber of Positions: 1About the Position:The Marketing Officer contributes to the implementation of marketing strategies of WorkBC in Richmond. The Marketing Officer outreaches to employers and potential clients through organizing and executing marketing activities/events to raise brand awareness within the Richmond community.Reports to: Senior ManagerKey Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Senior Manager to develop and implement community outreach and marketing initiatives within the WorkBC Richmond service area
  • Creates and cultivates a network of partnerships with local community agencies, services providers, and key community influencers
  • Identifies opportunities in the neighborhoods to promote WorkBC Employment Services
  • Implements marketing strategies to increase public awareness of WorkBC Employment Services
  • Conducts presentations and information sessions to employers and potential WorkBC Employment Services clients via online platforms and in-person at locations such as libraries,the Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations
  • Works with job developers in organizing and promoting hiring events and job fairs
  • Participates in booth exhibits at community events
  • Creates WorkBC Richmond’s print and digital communications for advertising campaigns, e-newsletters, websites, and social media channels
  • Composes and edits marketing materials, such as news releases, client stories, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Leads the production and distribution of monthly e-newsletters to various stakeholder segments
  • Maintains the content of WorkBC Richmond websites to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate
  • Manages WorkBC Richmond’s social media channels by posting and responding to messages as per internal guidelines
  • Interviews clients and stakeholders to produce write-ups which promotes success of activities and enhance the WorkBC Employment Services’ presence in Richmond
  • Develops photo portfolio for social media and reporting
  • Works with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. internal departments to ensure that our website is aligned to the design language of the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. website
  • Liaises with external vendors to support the design and production of promotional materials
  • Alerts WorkBC Richmond management team about trends in the labour market and news related to major employers in Richmond
  • Ensures the completion of all ventures including the evaluation of success by using various metrics
  • Provides reporting on community outreaching and marketing activities
  • Provides other communications and marketing support as assigned by the Senior Manager
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related discipline
  • Minimum of one year’s working experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism, preferably in a not-for-profit environment
  • Experience in event planning
  • Knowledge of managing social media communications
  • Knowledge of social and web analytics
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp and Envoke email marketing is an asset
  • Knowledge of the Richmond community is an asset
