Job Description

The Salvation Armys Rotary Hospice House located in Richmond. We are looking for a casual housekeeper that wishes to work in a warm and loving environment. The housekeeper performs a variety of general cleaning and laundry service functions in keeping with the standards of the Hospice.Hours:

  • 8:30am - 4:30pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs general office duties such as answering and screening telephone calls, greeting visitors and escorting visitors as necessary.
  • Maintains physical and electronic filing systems, log lists, phone lists, registers or other records, and office supplies.
  • Provides administrative support to staff members as required. Prepares, checks, and processes standard documents as requested such as correspondence, and vendor lists.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
  • Assists volunteer coordinator to organize calendar of events such as education, special events etc.
  • Ensures that the office is maintained in a clean and tidy manner and that required supplies are in stock.
  • Provides accounting support such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposit prep, receipting and other duties as required.
  • Provides support to the Nursing Department such as recording new admissions in PointClickCare, updating data, assisting with new orders, updating call out sheets, and ordering medical supplies as required
  • Assists the Director of Care and Executive Director in scheduling as required.
  • Assists nursing staff in arranging appropriate resident transportation.
  • Prepares & submits statistical information as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Fosters positive relationships with and between families and staff members.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
  • High standards of integrity, judgment and confidentiality, and an ability to model the values and standards of The Salvation Army.
  • Completion of Grade 12 including administrative courses, or the equivalent education and experience is typically required for this position.
  • Six months of general office experience that includes reception and clerical functions.
  • A Medical Office Assistant certificate is an asset.
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
  • 2 Years of experience required at a minimum for this position and any other experience requirements.

  • Ability to display patience and understanding towards residents’ families and visitors.
