Job Description

Duties:

  • Actively pursues feedback from their team members and customers to identify opportunities to increase service levels, productivity, and profitability
  • Acts as senior product subject matter expert
  • Monitors file profitability and escalate pro-actively to product and sales management to ensure that quoted services and pricing are adjusted to achieve profitability
  • Provides management with objective feedback regarding vendor performance levels, escalates issues in a timely manner to ensure best level of service
  • Responsible for the resolution of external disputes and collections ensuring their timely resolution
  • Manages and addresses all escalations in regards to file profitability - audit and identify files with loss or low margin and work with their team members to determine root cause and implement corrective action
  • Measure, analyze, and improve external or internal KPIs for areas of responsibility
  • Validates department staff understand and comply with customer and company standard operating procedures
  • Sets up estimated cost and revenue charges based on customer quotations or established contract rates
  • Ensures that all commercial documentation required for import customs clearance purposes is available and coordinates with both external and internal parties in case of discrepancies
  • Assigns tasks as required to internal departments based on the nature of the request
  • Ensures all assigned employees are trained, certified, and re-certified periodically on internal and external standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Serves as a liaison between the client, vendors, and government agencies
  • Ensures that customer standard operating procedures (CSOPs) are developed and maintained in conjunction with Account Management and Sales
  • Coordinates special booking requests (hazardous, oversize)
  • Identifies and communicates potential customer leads to Sales
  • Assists management by proactively providing input on talent acquisition, re-assignment, demotion, and promotion
  • Conducts regular employee performance review meetings and sets performance goals to drive employee development
  • Manages staffing levels based on business development, peak volume periods, department performance metrics, and employee vacations
Qualifications:
  • Preferred to have either an Associate’s Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of education requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of six years of experience in an airfreight import agent role required
  • two years of prior experience in a supervisory role preferred
  • Completion of any industry-related course is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per yearBenefits:
