  • Reviewing building systems trades progress for compliance with drawings, specifications, quality, schedule, and constructability. Identifying risks and opportunities and communicating to the project team.
  • Processing critical building systems submittals, coordination documents, and reports.
  • Providing input on schedule development and implementation to the project team as they pertain to the execution of building systems.
  • Reviewing and understanding prime contract and building systems subcontract details. Identifying and communicating risks and opportunities to the project team while ensuring contract management of the trade contractors.
  • Reviewing, negotiating, and processing change notices/orders related to building systems and assessing their effectiveness on the project budget, scope, and schedule.
  • Providing technical support to project teams on building code, design of temporary systems, quality standards etc.
  • Supervising, directing, coaching, training, and mentoring building systems employees daily.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Leading the project team and being responsible overall for the execution of the building systems commissioning process.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Tradesperson or post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (ex: mechanical, electrical, controls) or trade experience.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in mechanical/electrical construction.
  • intermediate knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, principles, and practices.
  • Intermediate understanding of key building sytems, including security, fire alarm, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), building automation systems (BAS) and information, communication, automation, and technology (ICAT).
  • Knowledge of basic construction law and the ability to apply building codes, as required
  • Ability to design and develop the building systems plans for temporary services and track costs.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling and the impacts to sequencing, with the ability to track mechanical and electrical progress.
  • Planning, organization, and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
