Please note: We have seasonal roles to offer ending January 12th, 2025.There may be a possibility for some of the seasonal roles to be made permanentThe Distillery Restaurants Corp., creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster Houseamp; Grill, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza, Jardin and Distillery Events (The Distillery District®- Loft and Archeo) are seeking experienced and motivated Line and Senior Line Cooks with a passion for creating an exceptionally crafted dining experience. The ideal candidate not only understands that exceptional food is at the heart of hospitality but that they are an ambassador to Toronto #39;s unique food and beverage culture. Please note: You must already have legal permission to work in Canada to be considered for this role.What you’ll experience with The DRC:

  • $20.00 - $22.00 PER HOUR, plus tips and food discounts at all our restaurants.
  • CAREER GROWTH! Learn under the guidance of the DRC’s talented Executive Chef team led by Culinary Director, Chef Tim Miles.
  • CONTESTS! Greatest Dish Challenge: A monthly cooking competition open to all DRC cooks with a CASH prize. This is also a great opportunity to challenge yourself and have a panel of DRC Executive Chefs to try your food.
  • TRIPS! Yes, you read that right – field trips! Selected employees get the chance to visit artisan food producers, cooking demos, farms and suppliers to educate and inspire.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Preparing food according to recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set out by our Executive Chef
  • Operating standard kitchen equipment with caution
  • Maintaining clean and organized stations
  • Following FIFO method to maximize product freshness
  • Moving food products and supplies between outlets when necessary
  • Reporting any equipment/utensil malfunctions/deficiencies to Chef on duty
  • Working collaboratively with BOH team members
  • Encouraging the DRC’s core beliefs and values on a daily basis
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
What you’ll bring to the kitchen:
  • EXPERIENCE. You have at least two - three (2-3) years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • EDUCATION/TRAINING. You’ve graduated with a culinary degree/diploma or it’s in process.It’s possible that school wasn’t your thing, but you’ve got the equivalent to a college education through a combination of education and experience.
  • PASSION. You have a genuine passion for food and a drive to create.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS. You demonstrate exceptional relationship-building and communication skills among your team members at the restaurant.
  • ADAPTABILITY. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • PERSONALITY.You’re humble coupled with a good sense of humour.
