We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor ("MS") to join the team located at 11760 Mitchell Road on Mitchell Island in Richmond, BC. Sharing of knowledge makes all of us better and the company stronger.OVERVIEW:Responsible for supervising and implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure peak operating efficiency of our equipment. The responsibilities of the MS are to execute, under minimal supervision, highly diversified duties including: installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining both production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of Richmond Steel Recycling business goals and objectives.The ideal candidate has very strong Preventive Maintenance experience with a proven track record.Must be a strong leader that is able to work with and develop a young, talented team of millwrights, welders and maintenance helpersRequirements
  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Diploma or Degree
  • Minimum 5 years supervising a similar role within a heavy industrial environment
  • Employee must demonstrate good people skills in supervising the work of union employees
  • Must be able to communicate with and motivate the work force to assure the completion of mechanical and maintenance repairs as expeditiously and cost effectively as possible, to avoid work stoppages while maintaining safety
  • Should have good understanding of the operation of equipment and be able to determine problems and be able to make decisions to solve the problem
  • Must be computer literate for communications, and to design & input various reports
  • Must have good communication skills to interact with customers and commercial drivers
