The foundation of our culture is based upon The VersaCold Way demonstrating our commitment to health and safety, integrity, innovation, performance and collaboration.We are a growing organization and currently looking for a passionate and motivated Payroll Administrator to join our winning team.Employment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Manager, Payroll ServicesOffice/Facility: Milton, ON or Richmond, BCPOSITION SUMMARYThe Payroll Administrator is responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, support and service under the direction of the Manager, Payroll Services. As a member of the Payroll Team, this position will be responsible for the processing of both union and non-union payroll for employees in all provinces across Canada.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inputs payroll data for designated pay groups in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Administers pay adjustments, vacation/time off requests, garnishments, benefit deduction amounts and other remittances as required by legislation, collective agreements and Company policies.
  • Processes manual cheque requests and issue ROE #39;s as required.
  • Prepares, reviews, balances and submits final payroll files.
  • Responds to payroll inquiries and issues, making corrections and adjustments as needed.
  • Ensures that all payrolls are in compliance with Federal and Provincial legislation and meet the obligations of the applicable collective agreements.
  • Review, edits, prepares and verifies payroll journals to be distributed to the Finance Department.
  • Generates routine and ad-hoc payroll reports as required.
  • Audits time administration and payroll data received from different operating locations across Canada.
  • Responds to requests for information from WCB, Service Canada, Canada Revenue and other government agencies as required.
  • Completes year end procedures as required (i.e. T4 #39;s, T4A #39;s and Releve #39;s).
  • Actively participates as part of the team to achieve shared goals.
  • Participates in other initiatives, projects and duties as assigned.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a high volume environment.
  • PCP certification, or working toward designation.
  • Experience with multi-province, union and non-union, hourly and salaried payrolls.
  • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exhibits sounds judgment and is able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates a team-orientated work style and willingness to support and contribute to team and organizational goals.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and organize work flow to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibits a continuous improvement mindset; looks for opportunities to enhance processes.
  • Takes initiative and accepts accountability for getting work done.
  • Demonstrates the ability to quickly understand and analyze issues, and suggest solutions, involving the right people as needed.
  • Ability to act with tact and discretion, maintaining confidentiality of files and personal information.
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
