QHSE Co-OpContact us Apply for this jobJob informationReference numberJR-0020566Job functionApprenticeship / Co-operative EducationPosition typeFull timeSiteRichmond150-2551 Viking Way, Richmond, BC V6V 1N4The Quality, Health Safety and Environment Co-Op will be responsible for assisting the GEA Refrigeration operations team in meeting both departmental and corporate objectives. This individual will have the opportunity to become an instrumental part of the team’s daily activities including the evaluation of processes, developing and applying testing procedures for existing products, creating and Evaluating safety procedures, and the recording and analysis of Key Performance Indicators.Your responsibilities and tasks:The successful candidate may be involved in a variety of operational and strategic tasks, such as:

  • Create and revise quality documents and procedures including manufacturing checklists, inspection checklists, quality alerts, OPLs, and work instructions, and ensure documents are up to date
  • Prepare audit checklists and participate in conducting internal Quality Audits including ISO, Lean, 5S
  • Identify critical-to-quality parts and conduct quality troubleshooting and analysis of rejected and returned material
  • Evaluate internal production processes and notify management of the inconsistencies
  • Maintain all inspection, calibration and other quality records
  • Assign MOC numbers, enter MOCs to MOC log, upload MOCs into share-point and work with Document Management System (DMS)
  • Quantify process variation including using statistics, sampling, control charts, process capabilities
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases and estimate, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products based on clients’ needs and requirements
  • Inspect workplace to ensure that equipment, materials and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public
  • Prepare and conduct Safety Audits
  • Analyze Safety data, and support the preparation of safety plans
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture in our workplace
  • Data Entry of Key Performance Indicators
Your profile and qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of four semesters completed
  • Ability to work full-time on-site
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent collaboration and communication (written, verbal, and visual) skills
  • An aptitude for hands-on work in a production environment, with a focus on safety
