Job Description

On behalf of our client in Richmond, BC, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a Senior Project Manager (IaC/Cloud) for a 12-months contract position. Role:We are looking for a Project Management Specialist with significant experience managing multiple large projects including infrastructure automation/Infrastructure as Code projects in the cloud, preferably Azure. The Project Management Specialist has an agile mindset, is an innovative problem-solver, and is accountable for the entire project scope, project team, resources, change records, issues, and the success or failure of the project. The position is required to manage risks in interrelated projects and has a strong understanding of the interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs. The Project Management Specialist will be managing projects within the context of the SAFe (Scaled Agile) Framework. They are expected to adopt the SAFe framework by leveraging past hands-on project management experience to determine fit for purpose for successful project delivery.Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of one or multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives across one or multiple lines of business.
  • Team Leadershipamp; coaching
  • Owning the full project life cycle including implementation from initiation to deployment for one or more major initiatives simultaneously
  • Developing and managing all aspects of the project and program including planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, issues, and day-to-day project activities including:
  • Setting and continually managing project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders
  • Preparing estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Managing project scope and changes
  • Procuring adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project teams, sponsors, senior executive management, and key stakeholders
  • Reporting on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Managing ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.
  • Defining the Statement of Work and Specifications for requested goods and services
  • Monitoring, tracking, and controlling outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Defining success criteria and disseminating them to involved parties throughout project and program life cycle.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of project management experience managing multiple large hybrid delivery (agile waterfall) or agile scrum delivery methods that span one or multiple business units
  • Experience leading large infrastructure automation/Infrastructure as Code projects in the cloud, preferably MS Azure
  • Extensive understanding of agile, hybrid, and waterfall project and program management principles
  • Extensive experience in creating and monitoring project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources; status reporting; identifying/managing project issues and risks; and change control.
  • Experience with stakeholder management in an enterprise environment
  • Excellent understanding of financial analysis and principles of project cost estimating analysis
  • Experience participating in and leading agile scrum teams.
Nice-to-haves:
  • An understanding of the MS Azure costing model is an asset.
  • SAFe training and certification is an asset
